Founded in 2015, Climate Change Theatre Action is a worldwide series of readings and performances of short climate change plays presented biennially to coincide with the United Nations COP meetings.

Description:
Mangrove was introduced to Climate Change Theatre Action at the Theatre Communications Group conference in Miami. After an amazing evening with like minded theatre makers it was clear that Miami, as a community at the forefront of climate change, should host a night.
Once Mangrove was on board, building the community to support Miami's version of the project began:

City Theatre, the premier short play institution in the U.S. also calls Miami home and was a natural fit to plan for an evening of short plays and Artistic Director, Margaret M. Ledford, will direct the readings.

Miami New Drama's dedication to social engagement, cultural conversation, and human interaction made it an easy decision for newly appointed Managing Director, Nicholas Richberg, to quickly commit to host at their beautiful Colony Theatre as well as provide support in choosing the plays and donating operational support to create a night of theatre.

Love the Everglades' dynamic leader, Houston Cypress, joins us to shape the conversations that will take place.
Recognizing a void, Mangrove reached out to the Miccosukee Tribe of Florida to include our local indigenous community and illuminate their continued stewardship of the land and water. To accomplish this a play writing workshop for the students at the Miccosukee School is being facilitated by local playwright and theatre maker, Ricky J. Martinez. He will guide the students in developing a short play to be read alongside the commissioned works provided by CCTA.
